USA: The Middle East Is Moving Away From Russia And China.

Washington believes that many Middle Eastern states in recent years have been determined to establish closer relations with Russia and China, but now their position has changed. This version was presented at a special briefing by a high-ranking US administration official, whose transcript was published on July 16 by the White House press service.
“I think if you were in the region, let’s say 18 months ago, you would hear a lot about a really meaningful drive to reduce risk, and I would say there was a real movement in a lot of capitals towards Russia and even China in many ways. In fact, it was stopped and, in many cases, very specific cases – I can’t talk about everything – reversed,” said the American official.
At the same time, as stated by an administration official, Washington is aware that the Middle Eastern countries “maintain relations with Russia, with China.”
“It’s natural, it will continue. However, if we talk about the most preferred partnership, especially in the areas of security, trade, investment, technology, then in all the capitals of the region, we heard that the United States is their main choice and priority. We are fully committed to responding to this and looking for areas where we can collaborate.” the official said.
American officials did not specify which countries they are talking about.

Representatives of the Washington administration during this trip of the American leader repeatedly emphasized that the United States intends to play a key role in the region and not allow a vacuum there that could be filled by Russia and China.
