WhatsApp will be able to create invitation links for group calls
The popular messenger WhatsApp will be able to create invitation links for group voice and video calls. The Android Police portal spoke about the new option .
In the application, the tab for creating a link to a new group call will be located above the call log in the Calls tab. There, the user will be able to set the type of call (voice or video) and copy the invitation link to forward it to contacts via WhatsApp or share it using other messengers. When you click on the link, the invited users will be able to join the call.
It is noted that Whats-App does not notify the creator of the call when a new participant joins the call. Also, the new feature does not include the “waiting room” concept that exists in other video conferencing applications, such as Zoom or Google Meet.
The service is currently testing support for 32 video call participants. According to the portal, the new feature will be launched for a wide range of users in the near future.
The head of the company Meta (recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia ) , which owns the messenger, Mark Zuckerberg announced the creation of links to quickly jump to a Whats-App call on September 27.
