Yes, “Born Again” could just be a reference to a canceled show being brought back from the dead. But it also happens to share the name of a script from numbers 227-231.

As Den of Geek (opens in a new tab) explains, Born Again is one of the darkest storylines in comics and, if replicated, would be heavier than anything yet seen. committed to the screen from the MCU.

The comic’s plot arc concerns Karen Page revealing Daredevil’s secret identity to Kingpin for drug money. Kingpin uses this information to shatter Matt Murdock’s life, leaving him broke, homeless and losing the will to live. After helping Karen kick the habit, the series eventually teams up with Captain America to take on Super-Soldier Nuke.

As the site notes, some of the plot elements from the story arc have already been used by Netflix, but there’s still plenty of material for the new series to use if it’s not considered a few too much.

The cast of Daredevil: Born Again:

So far, only Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin) have been confirmed for the show.

If the plot theory above is confirmed to be correct, we hope to see Deborah Ann Woll reprise her role as Karen Page, but nothing has been confirmed anyway.

Daredevil: Born Again on Netflix?

The series original series ended after three seasons in 2018, but that Netflix cancellation probably wasn’t due to declining viewership numbers. If anything, it was probably because Disney had started trying to round up all of its Marvel properties for its own streaming service: Disney Plus.

As Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, told the Marvel News Desk podcast (opens in a new tab) in January: “You know, as the #SaveDaredevil band started to rise, we started to understand the reasons why this happened and so we understood what Marvel has been up to since the release of Disney Plus.

As such, the new series will be exclusive to Disney Plus, but you’ll be able to continue watching the first three series on Netflix.

Why such a long gap between the two series? Well, Variety claims the characters couldn’t appear in any non-Netflix shows or movies for two years after the cancellation. Now that the time is up, we may see a lot more series and Kingpin than what has already been announced.
