Chinese Car Manufacturers Come After Tesla In America

As the world’s leading manufacturer of electric cars, Tesla may have the upper hand, but his rivals are ready to attack in full force.GM and Ford are planning to launch highly-anticipated electric cars such as the Ford F-150 Lighting and Hummer EV as early as 2025, so industry experts predict Tesla will lose its power supply. The Chinese sleeping giant has also awakened after turning the world over to EV dominance through oppression. With Xpeng’s foreign growth plans, Tesla will likely face Chinese competition at home due to others like Huawei that have invested in the EV industry. Startups like Nio have also entered the Chinese market.

Xpeng has announced its international expansion plans.

According to vice president and chairman Brian Gu, Xpeng will begin entering Scandinavian markets, including Norway, Sweden, and Finland with its P5 sedan in October. By 2022, Denmark, Sweden and other European countries such as the Netherlands will enter the American market

Norwegian government incentives have helped increase EV sales in this country, and the Chinese EV manufacturer Nio has also laid the groundwork for working there. Xpeng began its global expansion in December 2020 when it entered the Norwegian market.

As a global-focused company, we want to adjust our delivery options over time to include both Chinese and foreign suppliers, Gu told CNBC.
