Honda makes electric cars? 2022

Does Honda make electric cars?

Honda: A new era of Honda electric-powered cars is coming. It begins with the 2024 Honda Prologue SUV fully powered, providing flexibility and riding distance in step with our contemporary listing of stone SUVs.

Although General Motors will build the first two Honda electric cars in North America, the Japanese company plans to change course and produce its own later in the decade.

Company officials say they are building their own EV facilities, and after two GM EVs are sold in 2024, Honda will start building their own.

“it is our intention to provide in our factories,” stated Honda of America VP Dave Gardner, including that Honda has improved battery manufacturing generation by building electric hybrids. “We absolutely intend to use that useful resource.”

Honda and GM were partners in hydrogen fuel cell and electric vehicles. Earlier this year it was announced that GM would build one Honda SUV and one Acura SUV using Ultium-branded electric vehicles and battery systems. The company said the Honda SUV will be named Prologue, and both SUVs will have a body, interior, and driving features designed by Honda.

But after those two, Honda plans to manufacture its own series of electric vehicles, though it has not yet decided whether to use GM components. Gardner says Prologue’s income figures are between 40,000 and one hundred fifty,000 a year but did no longer say while the one’s numbers may be reached.

In April, the company said it planned to eliminate all of its petrol vehicles in North America by 2040, making it the latest major automotive company with a view to neutrality. Honda wants 40% of North American sold cars to be battery or fuel by 2030, and 80% of all cars sold to use batteries or hydrogen by 2035.

At Honda, they initially planned to meet strict government fuel efficiency standards and pollution standards by adding hybrids to improve internal combustion engines. But global control measures against climate change, including suggestions from U.S. President Joe Biden, have moved the company significantly in electric vehicles, Gardner said.

Battery-operated vehicles account for less than 2% of new U.S. vehicles. last year, however, analysts predicted significant growth as car manufacturers released new models. The affiliate company LMC Automotive expects to sell about 359,000 units this year, surpassing 1 million by 2023 and hitting more than 4 million by 2030. Still, that’s about a quarter of the new car sales of the year.
