The summer of each year unpleasantly surprises society with abnormal heat and subsequent forest fires. The current summer season is no exception – this time the UK has been particularly hard hit. Recently, a new temperature record of +40 degrees Celsius was registered there. In the second half of July, firefighters reported that they had to endure the most difficult day since the Second World War, because they received 2,670 calls per day, while usually, the number of calls does not exceed 350.

This term is commonly understood as devices for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. In 2020, the entrepreneur wrote that he really would like to create a quiet and powerful air conditioner that is able to control air humidity and eliminate pollution.

All these were just ideas, and now Elon Musk has announced the seriousness of his intentions. One of his subscribers asked me to create a conditioner with a good filter because he feels terrible because of allergies. Elon Musk responded to this request by saying that the development of such a device is already in the plans of Tesla. The entrepreneur noted that Tesla’s proprietary HVAC system would be especially useful in cities like Austin, Texas, where the amount of pollen in the air is at a critical level.

What will be the Tesla air conditioner in Elon Musk’s project?

Most likely, Tesla’s powerful air conditioner will be based on the Octovalve heat pump, which is used in some of the company’s cars. This system is used in vehicles not only to cool or warm the interior but also to clean the air of pollutants – this feature was especially useful during wildfires in California. The HEPA air filter used in automobiles is reported to be 100 times more efficient than premium automotive filters. That’s because it eliminates 99.97% of fine particulate and gaseous pollutants, as well as bacteria, viruses, pollen, and mold spores.

There is speculation that Tesla’s home air conditioner will sync with branded cars. When the owner of the house leaves home, the system will turn on and pre-cool and purify the air in the rooms so that the house is fresh and comfortable when it arrives. With the help of such a relationship, the air purification system will not work in vain – the inclusion will occur only when necessary. In addition, the system will produce at least a little, but clean filtered water.
