According to Irma Garcia’s nephew, Joe Garcia passed away in the aftermath of the massacre that took place at Robb Elementary School, which claimed the lives of 19 children and two teachers, including his wife of 24 years, Irma Garcia.
The nephew shared the news that my aunt Irma’s husband, Joe Garcia, had passed suddenly as a result of grief. He described the news as “EXTREMELY devastating” and expressed his extreme remorse at having to share it.

Irma Garcia, 46, was a teacher in the same classroom as Eva Mireles, who was also murdered by Salvador Ramos, 18, during the shooting that took place in Uvalde, which is located close to the border between the United States and Mexico.
