Kate Middleton’s outfit for a Buckingham Palace garden party is argued online. This year’s famous Royal Garden Party is taking place without Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who now appears in public only on special occasions due to mobility issues. Last Wednesday at the third party in the garden of Buckingham Palace, the Queen was replaced by Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Kate Middleton appeared at a similar event last week

Last week, 40-year-old Kate appeared at a similar event in a hot pink look and chose mint for the new release. The Duchess of Cambridge donned a flowing high-neck dress, made by her personal dressmaker Angela Kelly, and complemented it with an extravagant hat of the same color with a large decorative flower.

Prince William, 39, who missed the last garden party, looked stern and elegant in a black tuxedo and top hat. Edward and Sophie of Wessex, who attended the last event with Kate, were dressed in the same tone as the Cambridge couple. Sophie is in a bright blue dress and a hat with a flower, and Edward is in a tuxedo identical to William and a top hat.

Kate’s outfit that is discussed on the network

Most of all, it is Kate’s outfit that is discussed on the network. Commentators were divided into two camps: some call this image “truly royal”, others called the dress “old-fashioned”, as if from the last century, and as if for Mary Poppins.

Note that another royal garden party is to be held at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. Such meetings are an important part of the royal family’s calendar, and since the 1960s, Her Majesty has hosted up to 30,000 guests in her gardens every year. Traditionally, about 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches, and 20,000 cakes are served at a typical garden party.

This year’s event guests are no doubt disappointed that they won’t be seeing the 96-year-old queen but are glad the parties still took place despite cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Note that earlier last week, Her Majesty was published three times. First, she visited the stables in Windsor, literally a day later –  the closing of the Royal Horse Show and part-time the first celebration in the series of celebrations of the Platinum Anniversary of the Board, and then Elizabeth opened the railway line named in her honor. And the day before yesterday, she visited a flower show in London on a golf cart for 4.5 million rubles.
