Red Dead Redemption 2 has a number of cheats available, but the game defies traditional button code entry in favor of more immersive passwords.

The cheat code in  Red Dead Redemption 2  can drastically change the player’s Wild West experience, but it’s not that simple. RDR2  developer  Rockstar Games and as we know from the Grand Theft Auto series, the name of the cheat codes have especially ridiculous names.

Cheat codes in  GTA games are push-button; players just need to learn and enter the code into some in-game menu to activate it. GTA 5 codes came via cell phone, allowing players to dial numbers on their in-game phones to activate various cheat codes. It was a more immersive version of traditional code entry, but  RDR2 went further.

In   Red Dead Redemption 2, players must first find cheat code phrases hidden in the game world, as was first implemented in the original   Red Dead Redemption. Some of them can be found by chance while exploring the massive  RDR2  map, such as in a closet in an abandoned hut or etched into an icy surface. However, the easiest way to get  RDR2 passcode phrases requires Arthur to buy some newspapers.

How Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheat Codes Work

Red Dead Redemption 2 Newspapers can be purchased from vendors in Saint-Denis, Blackwater, and Valentine. Once the newspaper is in their hands, all players have to do is turn it over and look at the bottom of the page. If an article contains a cheat code, they will see a small section below one of the articles containing a single phrase, such as ” Greed is an American virtue “.

Entering the RDR2 cheat code is very easy to do: Players simply go to the Codes tab in the settings, press the ” Enter cheat ” button to pull up the text field, and enter the code(s) they found in the newspapers and around the environment. This will unlock a specific cheat which can then be toggled on and off.

The cheats themselves aren’t overly powerful, focusing more on improving Arthur’s attributes rather than giving him powerful abilities as in the case of  Grand Theft Auto 5 cheats. For example, they can give Arthur certain weapons or infinite ammo, make his Dead-Eye and Stamina infinite, or appear in War Horse. However,  Red Dead Redemption 2  ‘s approach to cheat codes makes these quests more exciting than other games – and thus perfect for a game that takes steps to instill realism into every aspect of its game.
