Sidhu Moose Wala Killed after Security Protection was Withdrawn

Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on Sunday, one day after the state’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government took away the security of about 420 people, including Moose Wala.

Police officer Gobinder Singh told PTI that Moosewala, who was 28, and his two friends were in a jeep when they were shot several times in Jawahar Ke village.

Dr. Ranjeet Rai told reporters that Moosewala was brought dead to the government-run hospital in Mansa. His friends are being treated for injuries at another hospital.

In the Punjab Assembly elections of 2022, Sidhu Moose Wala ran from Mansa on a Congress ticket. He lost to the Aam Aadmi Party’s Dr. Vijay Singla.

Moose Wala joined the Congress in November

Moose Wala, whose birth name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, joined the Congress in November. The Indian Express says that when the Congress gave him a ticket from the Mansa Assembly constituency, the sitting Mansa MLA, Nazar Singh Manshahia, turned against the party.

“I am shocked and very saddened by the brutal murder of Siddhu Moosewala. No one involved will be spared. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all of his fans around the world. “I ask everyone to stay calm,” said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who is from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and made his statement on Twitter.

“Deeply shocked by the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala in broad daylight. Punjab and Punjabis all over the world have lost a talented artist who was popular and could feel what people wanted.

“My deepest condolences to his family and fans all over the world,” said Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Twitter.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a leader of the BJP, said the police should file a complaint against Chief Minister Mann for “negligence of chief ministerial duties.”

“We have been telling Punjab Government to pay attention to Punjab’s situation. I want an FIR to be filed against Bhagwant Mann for not doing his job as Chief Minister well, which led to the death of Sidhu Moosewala. “Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal should be arrested,” Sirsa said about the AAP leaders.

Since the AAP took power in Punjab in March, the police protection of hundreds of people has been taken away. The first order came on March 12, and the last one came on May 28.

The Punjab Police took away security for Moose Wala and more than 420 other people, including former MLAs, Jathedar of two Takhts, heads of Deras, and a few police officers, said PTI.
