Supersonic Overture Jet will Reach Anywhere in 4 hours

The future of supersonic passenger aviation. Dedicated to the blessed memory of TU-144 and Concorde. American Airlines has confirmed the purchase of 20 Boom Supersonic Overture passenger jets. They can carry passengers at twice the speed of conventional liners.

Overture is designed to fly at speeds up to 1975 kilometers per hour. They are expected to have a range of more than 7,800 kilometers and be able to carry between 65 and 80 passengers.

The contract agreed between American Airlines and Boom Supersonic:

Under the terms of the contract agreed between American Airlines and Boom Supersonic, the supersonic aircraft manufacturer must prove that Overture meets all industry safety, operational, and performance standards before any aircraft is accepted into service.

“We are proud to share our vision for a more connected and sustainable world with American Airlines,” said Blake Scholl, CEO, and Founder of Boom.

t is important to note that the manufacturer also entered into an agreement with Northrop Grumman (an American military-industrial company). The contract involves the supply of special modifications to the aircraft designed to carry out military missions.

Despite these agreements, the aircraft is still in pre-flight testing. The company hopes to begin production of the Overture aircraft by 2024 and make its first flight by 2026.
