“This is the best we’ve had in years. And I think everyone really likes it. Getting several million people to watch your show every night at nine o’clock in the evening is epoch-making. So we are doing everything right. But we should always strive for more, improve and work on mistakes. However, we are very pleased with what we are getting,” said Kevin Ligo, Managing Director of ITV Studios.

By the morning after the final, Külçüloglu had 1.2 million followers on Instagram, while Sanclemente had one million. Gemma Owen, 19, and Luca Bish, 23, got second place and just missed out on the money. This was the first time in the history of the ITV2 show that bosses decided to skip the “split or steal” twist that usually comes at the end.
In past years, winners have picked an envelope that either contained the prize money or had nothing inside. One person in the couple was given £50,000 and could “split or steal” the money.
This year, host Laura Whitmore, who is 37 years old, said during Monday night’s live final that they would automatically split the money. This had been a tradition since the show’s first season, but producers decided to stop it.
As soon as the news came out, Ekin-Su, 27, jumped into the arms of her Italian boyfriend Davide, 27, to celebrate their win. Davide, also 27, was speechless and said he “couldn’t believe it”.
Second place went to Gemma Owen, daughter of former England international Michael Owen, and Luca Bish.
