Privacy of the users matters for Musk:

Musk later said on Twitter that the texting service WhatsApp, which is run by Meta Platforms Inc, “cannot be trusted.” There are several complaints regarding its privacy. Twitter’s new feature video and audio calls will also be very careful about privacy.

A messaging tool on Twitter would compete with a number of free services, such as Messenger, Telegram,  Signal,  and WhatsApp.

Musk also said it, starting yesterday, Twitter would scramble the contents of direct messages on the site to protect privacy. Since he bought Twitter for US$44 billion at the end of last year, Musk has made changes that seem rash and have sometimes caused chaos for users.

The CEO of Twitter has talked in public about making an “X” app that can be used for texts, payments, and more. Musk recently turned the tech company into an “X” shell business. He got rid of the Tweets company name, but the service is still called Twitter.

The other story of the Guilty Hacker:

This is the story of another British hacker. On Tuesday, he also pleaded guilty to his role in plans to hack into the Twitter accounts of celebrities such as Elon Musk and former US President Barack Obama and steal US$794,000 in bitcoin.
