Kia EV6 Ramps-Up: 5,000 Launched October 21

his wholesale sales have already reached the level of 7,000.

Kia EV6 Ramps-Up: Kia reports 217,872 car sales worldwide (down 18.9% year-on-year) in October. The decline is mainly defined as “service disruption caused by a shortage of semiconductor supply worldwide.”

However, total electricity sales for the Kia EV6 are booming. We separated the numbers and it turned out that another 5,101 were delivered in October (from 2,744 in September and 1,911 in August). That is 2.3% of the total volume.

The number includes about 2,762 units in South Korea and 2,339 in Europe (the first month of volume delivery).

The Kia EV6 is poised for further growth as retail sales (at manufacturer level or plant sales) nearly reached 7,000 in October. Not bad at all, considering that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 – previously introduced – is at 8,750 (its recording rate).

The duo is close to 16,000 a month before they even reach North America and the third E-GMP-based model, the Genesis GV60, is imminent.

The EV6 is not the only electric car offered by Kia, but we do not have all the numbers yet. Soul EV and Niro EV reported respectively 800 and 5,521 sales outside of South Korea in October (we do not have Kia domestic market numbers). That would add up to 11,422 for the Kia EV6 (5.2% of the total) – which could be more.

Kia does not report PHEV numbers but maybe a few percent higher.

To date this year, the company has sold no less than 66,600 electric vehicles (all EV6 plus Soul EV / Niro EV except South Korea).

Hopefully, we will soon see the Kia EV6 with 10,000+ units per month and the expansion will include North America, where the market launch is expected in Q1 2022.
