Legend of Maula Jatt Sets World Opening Weekend Record For Pakistani Film

Bilal Lashari Epic, The Legend of Maula Jatt, set a world opening weekend record for a Pakistani-made, Punjabi-language film. The fantasy action film, which is a reboot of the 1979 Punjabi cult classic, Mola Gat was released on October 13.

As highlighted in a recent Limit article and the Legend of Maula Jatt broke box office records with its opening weekend. The film earned just over half a million dollars in Pakistan. At seventy-nine UK locations, it has grossed $355,000 and is ranked ninth in the chart. In the United States and Canada, the film grossed $290,000 and $235,000, respectively, and in Australia, it grossed $160,000. In both Canada and Australia, the film entered number six on the chart and peaked at number one. in the United Arab Emirates with more than $515,000.

The film has been released in twenty-five markets around the world, including Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Southeast Asia. Overall, the film grossed $2.3 million globally (approximately 51 Pakistani Kroner). In comparison, IMDb rates Pakistani Urdu for the year 2018nadim by directed comedy Joanie veer Nahi Alani 2 ( The Young Ones Shall Never Go Back 2 ), previously held the record taking $331,048 worldwide at the box office. The filmmakers revealed that demand prompted exhibitors to add more shows throughout the week.

The film’s producers have expressed their happiness at its success thus far. “I am so blown away by the love the film has received from both audiences and critics around the world,” Lashari said. The film’s director, co-writer, editor, photographer, and producer admitted that he is happy that his work has opened the door to the world for Pakistani-based films. “We are proud that The Legend of Maula Jatt has been instrumental in putting Pakistani-made cinema on the global map as it continues to win hearts in theaters around the world.

Hikmat architecture product companions are also happy to see that his film is appreciated by critics and viewers around the world, especially in light of the difficulties caused by the pandemic. “ The legend of Maula Jatt has been our labor of love for several years. “The epidemic came and went, but we knew we had to wait for a theatrical performance because the movie is definitely a big screen experience,” said Hekmat. “We are very happy that our film broke previous records and set a new standard for Pakistani cinema, which has been loved and praised not only locally but also by audiences and critics globally.”

The legend of Maula Jatt is a reboot of Maula Jatt (1979) after an award-winning warrior challenges the most feared warrior in the land of Punjab, Nuri Nat ( Hamza Ali Abbasi ). Fighter Plane  Fawad khan ), seeks revenge on his opponent, but soon discovers that the price of truth, justice, and honor can tear families apart.

The film is also from the stars. mahira khan (as Mokho Jetni), Hamima Malik (Daru Netney), Johar Rashid (Mocha Net) and shima pity (Jiva Nat). Brian Adler who also worked on Avatar: Path of Water (to be released later this year) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), served as visual effects supervisor on the film. The film is jointly produced by Encyclopedia and Lashari Films with AAA Motion Pictures, and Moviegoers Entertainment distributes the film overseas. The film opened in Pakistan on October 13.
