Melissa George’s Margot is looking for a director for the “twisted” second season of “Mosquito Coast.”

“This couple has been together for 15 years, they have these two children. [played by Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman]. But they broke up when the kids were little, for a very good reason. There was an incident that we will reveal in the first episode.” diverse at Mipcom.

“It will hit the ground. We will tell exactly what happened and why this family ran away.”

Produced by Fremantle for Apple TV+, based on the novel by Paul Theroux and designed by Neil Cross, it follows Allie Fox (Justin Theroux), who uproots her family to seek refuge from the US government and killers. They will venture into the Guatemalan jungle to meet an old friend and her refugee community.

“What I loved is that we had five six-page dialogue scenes. You take a character-driven piece and you put it in this amazing environment,” she adds.

“When this secret is revealed to children, there is a lot of shame, a lot of guilt. A lot of ‘If I didn’t do what I did, would we stay together?’ You realize this whole season is about two people.” who are forced to stay together, against their will.”

But Margot takes it upon herself to find a path that she thinks is safer for her children.

This is where the war between the parents begins. It’s great to see, because children behave like adults and adults like children.”

The first episode of the 10-hour episode will premiere globally on November 4 on Apple TV+.

The Australian-American actress was known for taking her time before committing to the role, admitting the thought of not getting it was “too hard to bear.”

“My agent called me: I heard you’ve had this script for four months. What is this game? You have half an hour to do it. That was the moment I showed you my copy of Margot. To show me, because I am also a survivor”.

In 2016, she publicly accused her ex-partner of physical assault.

“I was in a place where I was very vulnerable. I wasn’t feeling very well. But by not feeling well, I was mirroring what was happening in my real life on camera. Now, I’m almost unsure.” I know why I have [this part] And why were you so scared? Margot, she’s mine now.”

She says she was afraid to “jump again.”

“I had no confidence in myself at the time. I took a long break. But the demand was there because I wasn’t everywhere all the time. People are sick of your face, you know?”

“That season, the more stressful things were, the calmer I was. That’s how you know you slept.”

George has appeared in “Mulholland Drive” (“David Lynch got my first visa. I became an American because of him,” he says), “Alias” and the horror films “30 Days of Night” and “Amityville Horror.”

“I was embarrassed, in a weird way, that the horror ‘theme’ could detract from the acting. My goal, especially with ‘Amityville,’ was for viewers to say, ‘That was a good job.’” With Ryan Reynolds, we follow the path. I blew all the bowls. Screaming so loud. Your body doesn’t realize it’s just a movie,” he laughs.

I kept making excuses to be in these movies. Not anymore.”

She admits that she can put up with a lot on set.

“Give me a good night’s sleep, drink a martini and forget about the shift.”

But while she’s enjoyed some of her roles over the years, from “The Slap,” which appears in the Australian original and its American remake, to “In Treatment,” Love will continue to play Margot, there’s still something waiting. :

“I would like to be recognized for my work.”

“Sometimes you don’t get recognition for certain parts, but you do get it from the people who are most important to you. It would be great to continue down this path. Play good and strong characters and don’t accept second place.” ”She says she. She also remembers the beginning of it.

“I was flying with eight pilots and they kept backing off. Once, [producer] “I want to meet the highest-paid actress who has never worked in her life!” exclaimed Brian Grazer in the casting room.

“That’s why I’m still here. I don’t think she’s made it yet. I haven’t even started.”
